Summer is here

It’s SUMMER. And that means it’s time to get out there and play! Kids, here are a couple of things Dr. Brad wants you to remember as you head outdoors this summer.

  • Bring a water bottle. Whether you’re at the pool, the park, out on a hike, at a friend’s house, rain or shine, you’re going to get thirsty. Be prepared and bring your own water bottle. Your body will be so happy.

  • Stay away from sugar drinks. Pop, soda and sports drinks might be super tasty, but the sugar will, in the long run, make you feel sad. So instead, you can put some fruit in your water to add a bit of flavor. Or choose a natural apple juice. Just make sure it's dark enough so you can't see straight through the liquid.

  • Eat your carrots and potatoes. Finish a big day of sports or playing outside by helping yourself to some carrots or baked potatoes. Bake your potato in the oven; eat your carrots cooked or raw. Both veggies are loaded with potassium and other great replenishing minerals that will help your body be healthy and strong.

If you have any questions for Dr. Brad, be sure to ask him next time you are in the clinic.
